Research and Development
In fundamental research the Faculty ranks among the foremost research institutions not only in the Czech Rebublic but also in the world. The two main areas of research and development include the information society and materials. The Faculty cooperates on projects with a number of regional, national, and multinational companies.
In 2012 it received a grant for establishing a European centre of excellence called New Technologies for the Information Society. All research activities of the Faculty will be concentrated in this centre.
Many of our students in the Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. study programmes are also engaged in research as members of departmental and interdepartmental teams.
In accordance with the Centre´s objectives research is carried out in the following programmes:

- P4 - Thin-Film Materials
