Research and Development
In fundamental research the Faculty ranks among the foremost research institutions not only in the Czech Republic but also in the world. The two main areas of research and development include the area of technology for information society and the research of novel materials. The Faculty cooperates on projects with a number of regional, national, and multinational companies.
In 2012 it received a grant for establishing a European centre of excellence called New Technologies for the Information Society (NTIS). Most of the research activities of the Faculty are concentrated within the centre.
Many of our students in the Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. study programmes are also engaged in research as members of departmental and interdepartmental teams.
